Design and Manufacture ofDrying Mixer in the Production of Organic FertilizerandOrganic Microbial Fertilizerfrom Poultry Manure

At present, for the rapid drying of poultry manure, high price drying mixer must beimported. Thus, design and manufacture of a small size dryer are required to produce organic fertilizer from poultry manure and to reduce poultry manure processing time, improve the quality of organic fertilizer, reduce investment and production costs, and reduce environmental pollution. Combining theoretical and experimental research and using graphic design software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Inventor were employed to select the structure, operating principles and specification of technical parameters and to test working performance of themixer. Drying machine with the capacity of 500kg/batch was of lightweight structure and easy to manufacture and install, operate and clean. The machine was of low cost, suitable for processing poultry manure into organic/microbial fertilizers and for drying various types of livestock wastes. In addition to the poultry manure processing, the machine can be used for drying or mixing complete feeds from ground raw materials of naturally-derived or concentrate feeds with locally available ingredients.

The present study used numerical simulation method by Eta/ Dynaform software as the basis for the analysis and evaluation of metal deformation process. This restrictsand overcomesthe errors that may occur during manufacturing, saving the time of moldingandfabrication details, saving materials,reducingthe price, and improvingthe quanlity of product after stamping. Based onsimulation problem on the deformation process of some typical partsin agricultural machines from sheet metal, optimal technologicalparameters for shapingwere proposed. On this basis, it is possible to apply virtual technology into production of equipment,machines and products in engineeringin general and agricultural engineering in particular.
Learners’ Perception on Brand Equity of Accounting and Business Management Education at Viet Nam University of Agriculture

The research focused on assessing the perception of learners on brand equity of accounting and business management education at Viet Nam National University of Agriculture based on secondary data and direct learners’ interview. As a result, learners rated brand of accounting and business education as moderate level, wherein the specilization and employment opportunity were rated lower compared with teaching staff and course practicality. Factor analysis showed that the reputation of the university and the faculty was related to historical development, entry requirements, guaranteed graduation quality and superiority in certain major. The factor of career employment was influenced by employment opportunity after graduation, the value of qualification, flexibility in changing work and career orientation of learners’ families. In addition, the student preferences, the tendency of society and gender also affected the individual leaner characteristics. Finally, education quality were influenced by education facilities, lecturer qualification, teaching method, learning outcome assessment and orientation activities for enhancing student professtional capability.

Một kỹ thuật mới dựa trên phổ huỳnh quang diệp lục HarvestWatchTM đặt trong môi trường bảo quản khí quyển điều chỉnh có nồng độ oxy thấp được thử nghiệm trên giống táo Greenstar để phát hiện thời điểm nồng độ oxy giảm quá thấp gây bất lợi cho hoạt động sinh lý của quả. Mục tiêu của nghiên cứu này là phát triển mô hình để dự đoán phản ứng của táo bảo quản trong môi trường có nồng độ oxy rất thấp. Để đạt được mục tiêu này mô hình hồi quy tuyến tính được xây dựng dựa trên số liệu thực nghiệm để diễn tả sự phụ thuộc của giá trị chênh lệch của chlorophyll fluorescence (Δ Fα) đối với các nồng độ oxy bất lợi. Mô hình tuyến tính ARX được đề xuất để dự đoán giá trị chlorophyll fluorescence (Fα) ở các mức ức chế khác nhau. Kết quả nghiên cứu cho thấy hệ thống HarvestWatchTM có thể được phát triển để duy trì tối đa chất lượng quả táo khi bảo quản bằng công nghệ điều chỉnh khí quyển động.
Selection of Inbred Maize Lines for Drought Tolerance Using Phenotyic Evaluation and Genetic Markers

Twenty eight maize (Zea mays L.) inbred lines of different origin were evaluated to select the drought tolerant lines as parents for hybrid maize breeding. These inbred lines was developed from the local open-pollinated cultivars and exotic gerplasm from China and America. To preliminarily identify drought tolerant inbred lines, the lines were grown in plastic pots.containing sterilized fine sand and the following tarits were observed: leaf area per plant, root volume, root length,, plant height, freshand dry root weight, and dry stem weight. The genes or QTLs associated with drought tolerance were analyzed using three specific SSR markers. Data analysis showed that root traits are correlated with yield under drought condition. And cound be considered as primary indicators to determine the drought-tolerance of maize. umc1862 marker was found to be associated with grain yield under stress condition (Ys), nc133 marker associated with the stress tolerance and umc 2359 associated with mean productivity. 28 inbred lines investigated have QTL controlling yield under strees and tolerance. Of these 14 lines that have QTL associated with strees tolerance index. Combining phenotypic evaluation and genetic markers, 5 lines, i.e. TP17, TP12, TP2, TP5 and TP24 are suggested for combining ability testing for future development of hybrid maize varieties with tolerance.
Fermentation of Agricultural Wastes after Harvesting by Microbes Combination for Bioethanol Production

The aim of this study was executive the fermentation by microbes to produce Bioethanol from Agricultural wastes after harvesting in order to reuse the wastes in most efficiency, forward to develope the subtainable Agriculture and contribute into environmental protection. The results obtained suggested that two microbescombination were chosen, which suitable for fermentation process including: combination of bacteria and molds with high abilities in organic degradation could use in period of pretreatment and decomposing raw materials and yeasts combination with ability in fermentation of saccharose into ethanol.The test of inoculation and fermentation of Agricultural wastes by microbes combination proved that activities of useful microbes in fermentation lead to increasing nutrients content in remain wastes, especially effect of ethanol production was preeminentin treatment of inoculation in anaerobic condition, at the same time supplying microbes by interrupted way,which suitable with fermentation process, the ethanol content increased 12 - 15 times comparing to control.
Physiological Responses of Some Groundnut Cultivars to Salinity

The pot experiment was conducted in net house to evaluate the effects of two salinity levels (NaCl 2‰ and 4‰) on the growth and yield of 6 local groundnut cultivars. The six groundnut cultivars are Sẻ Quảng Ngãi, Lạc, Lạc Quảng Trị, Mỏ két Tây Ninh, Giấy Tây Ninh, Đỏ Thái Bình. Results showed that salinity affected significantly growth and yield of groundnut. Increase in NaCl concentration decreased main stem height, dry matter weight, CO2 assimilation rate and triggered proline production in leaves of all cultivars. Besides, increase in level of salinity resulted in decrease of yield and yield components of groundnut. Among cultivars, Mo ket Tay Ninh obtained the highest pod yield at all salinity levels. In NaCl 4‰ treatment, the highest pod yield was found at Mỏ Két Tây Ninh (3.12g/plant), followed by Lạc Quảng Trị (3.04g/plant), Giấy Tây Ninh (3.03g/plant), Đỏ Thái Bình (2.79g/plant), Lạc (2.75g/plant) and Sẻ Quảng Ngãi (2.73g/plant), respectively. Among 6 varieties studied, Mo Ket Tay Ninh and Lac Quang Tri were believed to have good growth and yield performance and can be used as parental lines for salinity tolerance breeding in groundnut.
Design and manufacturing of automated greenhouse misting control system for vegetables during nursery stage

Control system automatic spray irrigation is an important factor, determines the success of the whole system in greenhouse vegetable production covered. Especially the vegetables in the nursery phase has many favorable characteristics for development of the disease, so the problem of monitoring and care of seedlings in the nursery should be top priority . The design, manufacture spray irrigation control system is very important in maintaining moisture, control the rate of the nutrients as well as the concentrations of plant protection spray vegetables. This paper introduces the results of research, design and manufacture of control systems automatic spray irrigation over time and temperature. Operator when the system is working just install the desired temperature value then the system will automatically control ventilation, misting pump to continuously ensure the installation parameters. The system also allows the operator can choose the location of fresh vegetables need watering time depending on the needs of each vegetable for systems with a variety of vegetables are grown in the same greenhouse.

Rabbits are suitable for livestock development for poverty reduction and sustainable agricultural development. At present, the development of rabbit breeding in the mode of industrial reproduction is of concern ofmany farms. In this report, we introduce some preliminaryresults on oestrus synchronization, preservationofsperms, combination of oestrus synchronizationwithartificial insemination (AI) for controllingreproduction of New Zealand rabbit in Vietnam. PMSG treatment has significantly improved receptivity of the doesandtreatment with 40 IU and 60 IU were more effective than with 20 IU in oestrus synchronization. TCG was more effective than EX1 in protection of rabbit sperms at 4oC. Both pregnant rate and litter size using AI after oestrus synchronization were higher than natural mating after normal eostrus.
Cloning and Sequencing of Genes Encoding Malonyl-CoA Synthetase (matB) and Malonyl-CoA Decarboxylase (matC) from Rhizobium leguminosarumKTCC 2362

matB(malonyl-CoA synthetase) and matC(malonyl CoA decarboxylase) are two enzymes involved in the malonyl-CoA metabolism, an essential precursor in metabolic processes in prokaryotes and eukaryotes such as nitrogen fixation, fatty acid synthesis, secondary metabolites, brain development, etc. Therefore, the study's objective was to clone the genes matBand matCthat can be used in the biosynthesis of the bioactive compound using malonyl-CoA as a precursor. matBandmatCwere isolated by PCR and ligated to cloning vector pGEM®-T Easy and sequenced. The obtained sequences were analyzed and compared to the reference sequence (AF117694.1) in the Genebank. In conclusion, Rhizobium leguminosarumKTCC 2362 - derived matBand matCgenes were cloned and sequenced successfully.
Some Improvement Results to Ameliorate Accuracy of Measurement by Connecting Physical Experiments to Computer

DataStudio is a data collection, display, and analysis program provided by PASCO Scientific. Based on this improved solution, the research groupreceivedthe followingresults:replacedthe old measurement method, introducednew experiments and and using software to process data.The main goal is to create highly accurate experiments to help learnersprocess data better and improve their skills in using modern laboratory equipment.From these innonvations, lecturers and students have more excitement and creativity during the conduct of experiments
Evaluation ofSalt Tolerance of Newly Collected Rice Accessions

This study was carried out to evaluate agronomic characteristics, salttolerance and the presence of QTL Saltolof newly collected rice accessions throughfield experiment,artificial salinity treatment and molecular identification. The experiments on agronomic characteristics and salt tolerance were carried out according to the method of IRRI, 1997 and 2013 at the FieldCrops Research Institute, Gia Loc district, Hai Duong province whilemolecular marker analysis was conducted at Vietnam National University of Agriculture, Gia Lam district, Ha Noi city. Theevaluation results showed that the rice accessions were diverse in growth duration, plant height, flag leaf length, and panicle length. Out of 39 accessions, 6 promising ones were selectedwith good salt tolerance: Lua soi, M3, HHZ8-SAL6-SAL3-SAL1, HHZ8-SAL6-SAL3-Y2, HHZ12-SAL8-Y1-SAL1 and Hasawi IRGC 16817and 22 rice accessions carrying SaltolQTL. Thus, the selection of materials for breeding salt-tolerant rice varieties should combine the evaluation of agronomic characteristics with artificial salt tolerance assessment and molecular markers.

Phân lập, nhận diện và đặc tính sinh học của xạ khuẩn sinh enzyme chitinase ở vườn quốc gia Yok Đôn

Việc tạo ra phân bón sinh học mới là lĩnh vực rất được quan tâm trong nông nghiệp hiện đại. Nghiên cứu này tập trung vào xạ khuẩn có hoạt tính chitinase cao, tạo màng sinh học, thúc đẩy sinh trưởng và kháng nấm bệnh hại cây trồng. Trong nghiên cứu này, hai chủng xạ khuẩn YSS-3.3 và YWS-5.1 được phân lập từ các mẫu đất và giá thể chitin thu tại vườn quốc gia Yok Đôn ở Tây Nguyên. Các chủng này có hoạt tính chitinase cao và tạo màng sinh học. Phân tích trình tự gen 16S rRNA cho thấy chúng có quan hệ di truyền gần gũi nhất với loài Luteimicrobium album, với độ tương đồng trình tự 99,41% và độ phủ trình tự 100%. Phương pháp nuôi cấy trên đĩa thạch chỉ ra rằng các chủng xạ khuẩn sở hữu hoạt tính thủy phân cellulose và tinh bột; hòa tan kẽm, kali và phosphate khó tan; và tổng hợp siderophores. Phân tích bằng UV-HPLC cho thấy các chủng này cũng sản xuất hormone tăng trưởng cây trồng như IAA, GA3 và zeatin. Kỹ thuật nuôi cấy kép chỉ ra rằng các các chủng xạ khuẩn có hoạt tính đối kháng nấm Fusarium oxysporum. Từ những cơ sở trên, L. albumYSS-3.3 và L. albumYWS-5.1 là các ứng cử viên tốt cho các nghiên cứu tiếp theo liên quan đến ứng dụng trong nông nghiệp. Các chủng này cũng là nguồn nguyên liệu tiềm năng để thực hiện các nghiên cứu sâu về trình tự bộ gen, hệ thống chitinase, cellulase và amylase của chúng.
Identification of the Mating-type Loci of Cordyceps militarisby Multiplex PCR

In the cross-breeding of Cordyceps militaris using single spores, determining the genotype of the mating type locus is crucial for constructing a cross diagram. Individual PCRshave been conducted to identify the mating type loci MAT1-1 and MAT1-2 in this fungus. The research aimed to design specific primers for Multiplex PCR to efficiently and simply identify mating-type loci in a shorter time. The primer sequences were derived from the sequences of two mating type loci MAT1-1 (AB194982) and MAT1-2 (AB084257) retrieved from the GenBank database using the Primer-BLAST tool. The research results indicate that the Multiplex PCR, comprising three primer pairs MAT1-1-1-MUL, MAT1-1-2-MUL, and MAT1-2-1-MUL, successfully amplified products with sizes of 527bp, 323bp, and 222bp from the MAT1-1-1, MAT1-1-2, and MAT1-2-1 genes, respectively. The Multiplex reaction exhibits high specificity and reliability in determining mating genotypes in C. militaris, making it a valuable tool for applications in breeding selection based on molecular markers in C. militaris.
Development of Vegetable Production for Export in Vietnam: Theoretical and Practical Issues

Vietnam has the advantage of natural conditions to develop production of fresh vegetables (leafy, root, fruit vegetables and spices)..in which fresh vegetables for export are one of the important products of the agricultural sector. Exporting fresh vegetables are not only to bring export turnover to the country, but also create favorable conditions for supporting industries, especially to develop processing logistics and service. However, Vietnam's vegetable export production has not yet reached its full potential and revealed many limitations. This research used methods of synthesizing and statistical analysis of secondary information/data from books, articles, specialized journals, and domestic and international scientific research in order to systematize the theoretical and practical basis of developing vegetable production for export, thereby generalizing solutions to develop export vegetable production for Vietnam.
Identification of Causative Agent of Lotus Blight Disease in Thua Thien Hue in 2022

Blight is a destructive disease of Lotus (Nelumbo nucifera) that has emerged in Thua Thien Hue province in recent years. The objective of this study was to identify the etiological agent responsible for the disease. The pathogenicity of microorganisms isolated from diseased Lotus plants was evaluated by inoculating healthy Lotus plants with these isolates. The pathogenic fungus was evaluated for its morphological characteristics on potato dextrose agar (PDA) medium and on pieces of pine needles. Molecular identification of the pathogenic fungus was performed based on the sequencing of three barcode genes, including Internal Transcribed Spacer (ITS), Translation Elongation Factor 1 gene (ef1), and beta-tubulin (tub2). Symptom evaluation of diseased Lotus plants in nature suggested that the pathogen primarily attacked the upper part of the plant. Eight morphologically distinct bacterial and seven fungal isolates were obtained from the typical diseased petioles. Artificial inoculation of all bacterial and fungal isolates on leaf veins and petioles of Lotus plants revealed that only one fungal isolate, designated as N1, was pathogenic to Lotus, producing symptoms resembling those of the diseased plants in the field. Morphological evaluation, including the characteristics of fungal mycelia on PDA medium and the characteristics of conidia, identified the N1 isolate as a member of the genus Lasiodiplodiaof the family Botryosphaeriaceae. Molecular identification identified the N1 isolate as Lasiodiplodia theobromae. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report in the world and in Vietnam that identifies L. theobromaeas the causative agent of blight disease in Lotus plants.
Genetic diversity analysis of 30 accessions of lotus (Nelumbo spp.) by RADP and ISSR markers

Lotus (Nelumbo spp., Nelumbonaceace family) is an important horticultural plant, with its uses ranging from ornamental, nutritional to medicinal values, and has been widely used in Vietnam. This study aimed to evaluate the genetic diversity of 30 lotus accessions collected in some provinces in Vietnam by using RAPD and ISSR markers. 12 RAPD and 18 ISSR successfully detected 178 loci, among these, 115 were polymorphic loci and 4084 clear and scorable bands were obtained. The similarity coefficient of 30 accessions ranged from 0.65 to 0.93 when combined both RAPD and ISSR markers. At the genetic similarity of 0.80, 30 lotus accessions could be divided into 4 distinct clusters. These results showed that the genetic diversity of 30 collected lotus accessions were very high. The 30 collected accessions are valuable source for the conservation and development of lotus genetic resources as well as for the breeding of new lotus varieties.

Gardenia (Gardenia jasminoidesEllis) is not only valuable as a food but also a medicinal plant used in the treatment of illnesses including jaundice, headaches, fever, inflammation, hepatic disorders, and hypertension.The current study aimed to establish an efficient protocol for in vitropropagationof Gardenia jasminoidesEllis with high multiplication rate and healthy plants. The pre-mature Gardenia fruits were the most suitable plant parts for initiation of in vitroculture. Seeds sterilized using 0.5% Presept solution for 10 minutes gave the highest sterilization (94.67%) and germination rate (90.59%). MS medium supplemented with 1.5 mg/lbenzyladenine gave multiplication rate of 7.29 shoots/explant. MS medium supplemented with 30-40 g/l sucrose and 150ml of coconut water/l gave vigorous growth of microshoots and good shoot quality. MS medium supplemented with 0.5 mg/l IBA or half-strength of MS medium recorded100% rooting rate, normal root morphology, and well growing plants.

Hedychium(Ginger-lily), a genus of the Ginger family has medicinal and ornamental value for long time ago in the world. Our research focused on flower, fruit, seed, pollen and ripening characteristics of stamens and pistils for breeding purposes. Five ginger-lily accessions collected in some provinces of Vietnam were planted in Gia Lam, Hanoi. The treatments were arranged sequentially in a block without replication. The results showed that Ginger-lily flower has typical structure of Ginger family. The flowers of all accessions bloom in the morning from 8:30 am to 10:30 am, especially, NT1, NT3 accessions bloom one more time in the afternoon at 2-3:30pm. The pistil matures30-60 minutes after anthesis and the stamens mature 2.5-3 hours after the pistil maturity. Pollen grains are round, non-sticky, 72.3-86.8µm in diameter, 76.5-83.3% viabile. Ginger-lily fruit is a capsule with 3 compartments, green when young then turn yellow, light yellow or orange at full maturity. Seed has red sticky aril, slightly rounded shape with angled edges. Fruit weight reaches 1.72-3.92 g/fruit, with 8.4-17.6 seeds/fruit, 2.8-5.9 seeds/compartment. Seed weight reaches 45.17-92.34 mg/seed, 0.32-0.39cm in diameter.
Impacts of Covid-19 Pandemic on Fisheries Management in Vietnam: An Initial Assessment from Fisheries Management Aspects

The Covid-19 pandemic with its complicated and unpredictable occurrence negatively affects socio-economic aspects, including fisheries sector. The present paper reports the initial assessment about the impacts of Covid-19 on Vietnam’s fisheries management activities. The secondary data were collected through online survey and discusions with fisheries managerial staffs from Provincial Departments of Fisheries. Above 77.4% of respondents were unanimously in answering that the Covid-19 pandemic had a heavy effect on fisheries management activities. Fishermen supported services, seafood processing plants and exporting were affected seriously with 48.4%, 74.2% and 71%, respectively. The frequency of fishing vessels’ arrivals and departures in ports decreased by 10-30% compared with previous years. Several technical workshops and training courses for fishermen were postponed, cancelled or shifted to next year because of social distancing, lockdown and movement and gathering restrictions in order to cope with Covid-19 pandemic.
Sustainable Poverty Reduction in Kim Boi Disrtict, Hoa Binh Province

The aim of the study was to assess the current situation of implementing poverty reduction solutions, thereby proposing solutions to improve sustainability in sustainable poverty reduction in Kim Boi district, Hoa Binh province. The study used descriptive and comparative statistics methods to analyze the situation of implementing sustainable poverty reduction solutions. Primary data were collected from 100 poor ethnic minority households in 16 communes and 20 staff members of the district and communes. Results showed that the poverty reduction programs have contributed to reducing the poverty rate in the district by 4.97% each year butnot ensured sustainability, and the rate of re-poverty was still high. The study proposed several solutions to overcome the difficulties in the process of implementing sustainable poverty reduction solutions. Among the solutions, effective capital use through the implimetaion of support mechanisms for the poor ethinic minority households to creat sustainable livelihoods needs to be paid attention.
Characterization of BacillusStrains Isolated from Rice Vermicelli Phu Do Village Wastewater

The Bacillusspecies have become an increasingly important group of microorganisms with many applications such as environmental pollution treatment, traditional fermented products, pharmacy, etc. This study collected 66 strains of Bacillusfrom the wastewater samples of rice vermicelli production families at Phu Do to build up a collection of strains of this genus. The activities of extracellular enzymes of 66 isolates were investigated. The results showed that 26/66 strains secreted all three extracellular enzymes as protease, amylase, and cellulase with the largest substrate resolution ring diameters of 18.3, 20.8 and 20.9mm, respectively. Among them, four different strains NTB2.1, NTB2.3, NTB2.11, NTB5.7 were more active in biofilm formation than others based on the crystalline purple dye method. The data from measurement of absorbability at 570nm (OD570) wavelength showed greater than or equal to 3.17. In addition, these strains inhibit the growth of pathogenic microorganisms such as E. coli, Salmolellaand these strains were not antagonized to each other.
Speech Recognition of Vietnamese Alphabet using Deep Boltzmann Machines

Speech recognition has been attracting many researchers in the field of artificial intelligence recently. For example, the problem of implementing a program for robots to recognize human speech, thereby robots can understand, learn and talk with human. In this study, 37 students from Vietnam National University of Agriculture were involved to acquire speech data of 29 letters in Vietnamese alphabet. The data were preprocessed to extract featured voice chunks for the classification. We then used the deep Boltzmann machine (DBM) as a deep network with stacked hidden layers. To evaluate the proposed method, we compared the learning performance of DBM to a neural network (NN) with the same network structure configuration. The results showed that DBM performed better with accuracies of 68% on the training dataset and 51% on the test dataset, while the respective figures for NN were 61% of training and 48%.
