Field experiments were conducted in the Spring and Summer-autumn cropping seasons in 2018 in Do Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, Nghe An province to determine the suitable fertilizer dose and direct seeding rate for new early maturity rice variety DCG72. The experiment included 4 dosesof fertilizers (50kg N + 37kg P2O5+ 37kg K2O/ha, 70kg N + 53kg P2O5+ 53kg K2O/ha, 90kg N + 68kg P2O5+ 68kg K2O/ha and 110kg N + 83kg P2O5+ 83kg K2O/ha)with 3 rates of direct seeding (40, 60 and 80kgseed/ha). Results showed that thedifferent treatments of fertilizer andseeding ratesignificantly influenced on the number of tillers/m2, leaf area index, number of panicles/m2and grain yield of DCG72, but did not remarkably affect on the number of filled-grain/panicle and the 1000-grain weight. The most suitable dose of fertilizer for DCG72 in the Spring cropping season was: 90kg N + 68kg P2O5+ 68kg K2O and in the Summer-autumn cropping season was: 70kg N + 53kg P2O5+ 53kg K2O. The most appropriatedirect seeding rate for both cropping seasons was 60kg of seed/ha/season.
