    Abstract

This study was investigated to find out the diversity of bacteria co-cultivatedwith microalgae Chlorella.Bacteria were isolated from two non-axenic algal cultures of Chlorella sp. strains C2 and C6 originated from soil using agar plates of 10- and 102-fold diluted nutrient broth.Based on the similarity of the almost full length 16S rRNA gene sequences, the type strains of species phylogenetically closely related to the isolated strains and neighbor-joining tree, the strains were identified at the genus level. Sixteen bacterial strains were isolated and identified as species of seven genera as follows: Caulobacter,Shinella,Aminobacter,Variovorax,Polaromonas,Brevundimonas,Emticicia. The study showed the diversity and abundance of bacteria co-cultivated with non-axenic cultures of algae.
