Thequalityofseedisoneoftheimportantfactorsaffectingthegerminationprocessandseedlingformationrate.Thisworkwas toinvestigatethevariationofseedsize-relatedparametersandthe relationshipbetweenseedweightandgerminationcapacityaswellasstudyingthestructure,developmentoftheembryoandseedgerminationinNgocLinhginseng.Atotalof2,000NgocLinhginsengseedsfrom6yearoldplantsgrowingunderforestcanopyinKonTumprovincewereincludedinthisstudy.Researchresultsdetermineddistributionforthefrequencyofseedweight,length,widthandthickness.A significantpositivelinearrelationshipwasobservedbetweenseedweightandlength,widthandweight.Theseedweightsignificantlyaffecteddehiscencespeedandgerminationratebutdidnotaffectthe dehiscencerate.Thehighestgermination(96.17±3.62%)wasdetectedinseedstreatedwitha weight≥50mg.Theembryointhe freshlyharvestedseedofNgocLinhginsengisnotfullydevelopedandhas anaveragelengthof0.81±0.08mm.During60daysofstratification,cotyledons,hypocotyls,radicles,andepicotylsbecomevisibleandtheembryoscontinuetodevelopandreachalengthof7.05±0.95mm.The seedofNgocLinhginsengishypogealgermination.
