    Abstract

In this paper, a four-variable refined plate theory (HSDT4) was used for free vibration analysis of functionally graded carbon nanotube-reinforced laminated composite plates. Equations of motion for simply supported rectangular plates were derived using Hamilton's principle. Comparison studies were carried out to verify accuracy of the present model. New parameter studies regarding the influence of material properties, plate geometry, CNT volume fraction, CNT distribution types, on the natural frequency were performed in detail.
