    Abstract

NAC transcription factors have been regarded as one of the largest families of transcriptional regulators in plants. It has been demonstrated that NAC families played an important role in various biological processes in crops, particularly in abiotic stress response. This review summarizes the information of NAC families in numerous plant species. The functions of several NAC genes involving in the improvement of stress tolerance are discussed. Finally, some research orientations are proposed for further functional characterization of NAC gene for the crop breeding strategy adaptable to the climate change.
