Abstract
This study aims to assess the current disease management in chicken raising of the farm households in Yen Thedistrict, Bac Giang province. Both secondary data and primary data from farm household survey were used for this study and the main analytical methods include the descriptive statistics and comparative analysis.The results showed that most of the large-scale and medium-scale chicken raising households have actively applied the measures for disease management. Meanwhile, many small-scale households have not fully applied the measures, specifically in chick selection, raising house preparation, and feed selection. The major solutions for enhancing the disease management in chicken raising include the development of large-scale raising farm models, the enhancement of the propaganda and dissemination on measures for chicken diseases, better control of the private providers of veterinary services, and improvement of the policies for chicken raising in the district.
